Newsletter privacy policy
Tony's Toon-i-Verse Newsletter sends email updates about comics and blog posts. Nathan Van Lare operates the newsletter. Contact: tonystooniverse@gmail.com.
Information used
When you subscribe, we store your email address, comic/blog preferences, subscription status, signup and confirmation dates, and the tokens needed to confirm, manage, or unsubscribe your address. We also keep delivery records and records of addresses excluded because of bounces or complaints.
Cloudflare hosts the website and subscriber database. Cloudflare Turnstile checks signup requests for abuse. The signup service uses a hashed IP address for an hourly rate limit. These providers process the information needed to operate and protect the service.
Email delivery and Google access
Google's Gmail service sends confirmation emails and requested updates from tonystooniverse@gmail.com. Google processes recipient addresses and message contents to deliver those emails. Sent messages remain in the sending mailbox.
Only the newsletter operator connects a Google account. Subscribers do not grant access to their Google accounts. The application requests permission to send email through the operator's Gmail account; it does not request permission to read inbox messages or contacts. The connection credential is stored as an encrypted Cloudflare secret. Gmail message identifiers are used in delivery records.
We use this information to run the newsletter, manage preferences, and prevent abuse. We do not sell subscriber information or use it for advertising.
Your choices and stored records
Confirm your address before receiving updates. You can change your preferences or unsubscribe using links in newsletter messages. Unsubscribing stops future updates but does not automatically erase subscription or delivery records. These records do not currently have a scheduled automatic deletion period. Contact tonystooniverse@gmail.com to request access, correction, or deletion of your newsletter information. Records needed to honor an unsubscribe or block abusive delivery may need to be retained.
The operator can revoke the Gmail connection through their Google account. Doing so stops the application from sending until it is reconnected.
